GREATER HEIGHTS EXPERIENCE PROJECT:
With your help we were able to undertake many wonderful projects over the years, projects that have benefited both the children we work with and the wider community they live in. From essential amenities such as water tanks and sanitary buildings, to electricity supply and food production. Each work is another significant step towards brighter futures for countless people and also brings hope to many more. Through UK friends funding individually but still this is not enough for the population of the district area, we have been able to install two water tanks in Uganda and infrastructure, one at each of our village sites. These provide a clean and convenient water source for our community but the water is very expensive in homes and the local community. Our current farming facility is a small well established project, growing food crops for the children in our SUNA-MIGORI homes. We are keen to develop this further to aid the schools sustainability and provide local employment. We are also planning a factory Maize grinding Factory Machine to help the community grow their own maize and after bring it at the maize grinding for an affordable price in the communities of Suna Migori the grinding Maize machine is at £6,000.00 plus a small store house to attain it and some bags of maize straight from the garden.
Since beginning working in Uganda and Kenya we have put up temporary Shelters for boys and girls dormitory block in SUNA- MIGORI KENYA KISI DISTRICT for our senior school students and separate boys and girls homes for our sponsored primary school students.
We have got four churches which help in that are also used as community hubs. This helps some time when things are so tight.in Kenya.
THE SITUATION WE FACE
There are now 1.9-MILLION AIDS-Orphans in Kenya - over a three-fold increase, up from 600,000 since 2000 - plus those caused by Malaria, Typhoid and road accidents.700 Kenyans aged from 25 to 40 years DIE every day due to AIDS, leaving 1,340 new Orphans daily. The average life expectancy of Kenyans is now only 40 years, with only 5% of the population over 60. Retirement age is 40 years! TB is an added peril, with 40 deaths every day There is NO free Medical/Health Service in Kenya - you either have money, or you suffer. Many are refused treatment and sent home because they have no money and many die. If admitted, Orphans are held prisoner in hospital because they have NO MONEY to pay the hospital, until the bill is paid. Many Orphans are excluded from School because they have no money for School fees, Text Books, uniform, etc. Without YOUR help, these destitute Orphans will have no Education, Medicines / Hospital, Nutrition, Proper Clothes or shoes CHILD/TEENAGE MOTHERS UNDER 18YRS
